“The library of life is burning and we don’t even know the titles”
– Gro Harlem, former Prime Minister of Norway

Around 1 million animal, plant, bird, reptile, amphibians and fish species living on this planet have been scientifically described – and some people estimate that a minimum of 25 million more are still to be documented. We know so little about our world and yet at the present rate of loss of the world’s native animals, plants and forests (it’s bio-diversity) some species may be described only after their demise.
