Resources and Partnerships

The Thomas Foundation’s resources are limited.

In 2013, our staff comprised three voluntary Directors, a consultant providing political advice pro bono to the Fight for the Reef Campaign, and an Executive Assistant employed part-time.

To deliver our conservation strategies, the Foundation works through established NGOs. Our partners include The Nature Conservancy (TNC), Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC), Bush Heritage Australia (BHA), Greening Australia, Trust for Nature, Birds Australia, Ecotrust Australia, World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), the Australian Marine Conservation Society (AMCS) and the Pew Environment Group (PEG).

To deliver our non-conservation strategies in the health sector in 2012/13, we worked through the University of New South Wales’ Healthy Brain Ageing Centre, and the health-care provider HammondCare. We are also working with the Australian Chamber Orchestra and the Asylum Seekers’ Centre in Sydney.

As well as project funding, we assist partners by providing additional grants to build their capacites and skills.
